Resource Management Overview
Resource Management allows you to review and publish project workload assignments for resources. In addition, it allows you to define a scheduling calendar, resource classes, and resource pools for scheduling purposes. Resource Management is fully integrated with the projects, financials, and billing systems.
Features
The Resource Management features allow you to do the following:
- Define a scheduling calendar, which includes scheduling periods and scheduling dates. See Define Scheduling Calendar.
- Define expense and labor resource classes. See Define Resource Classes.
- Define resource pools and organize them into resource pool maps. See Define Resource Pools.
- Assign resources, which include labor and expense resources, to project tasks. This is typically done by a Project Manager. See Project - Resources Tab - Screen Description and Update Project Progress.
- Review, edit, and publish assignments on the resource plan. See age Resource Plan.
- Employees or their managers enter time based on their assignments. See Timesheet (Default View).
- Monitor resource utilization. See Monitor Resources.

Resource Management Roles
Resource Management tasks are typically divided into the following roles:
- Project Managers: Project managers assign resources to project tasks in Project - Resources Tab - Screen Description or Update Project Progress.
- Resource Managers: Once the Project Manager's assignments are through the workflow and into a final state, Resource Managers review, balance, and publish labor resource assignments in Resource Plan - Screen Description.
- Employees: Once the Resource Manager has published assignments, employees can enter the time worked on the assignments on their Timesheet (Default View).
